The Fourth Day Secretary is responsible for the continuity of the Fourth Day to the Lay Director and Secretariat.  S/he works with, and has oversight of, a fourth day group consisting of area reps, parish contacts and Ultreya coordinator. S/he has a vital role in helping new Cursillistas to become incorporated into the existing group. S/he encourages members to attend Seed Groups, Ultreyas and Closing Eucharist’s.  Communication is a major part of the role: contacting members, ensuring dates of events are known, passing on changes of details.  S/he also promotes understanding of the Cursillo Movement.  S/he liaises with the Lay Director in organising servant community meetings twice a year.  The fourth day coordinator has a vital role and has to be proactive in motivating and encouraging all those in the fourth day team.  It is a demanding but rewarding job.

BACC Representative

The BACC representative ensures that the Wakefield Cursillo has a good relationship with the wider Cursillo movement and that it is acting in accordance with the licence given to BACC by the National Episcopal Cursillo.  S/he also encourages members from the diocese to attend the National Ultreya and other national gatherings.  S/he ensures that appropriate publicity is placed in BACC pages.  S/he attends BACC meetings and reports the proceedings to the Secretariat.

Lay Director

The Lay Director is appointed by the Secretariat to serve for three years.  S/he is responsible for the day to day life of the Cursillo movement in the diocese and reports to the Bishop.  S/he co-ordinates the work of the different officers.  S/he supports Lay Rectors after their appointment as they prepare for the Cursillo weekend.  S/he seeks to promote the Cursillo movement in the diocese and maintains relationships with the wider Cursillo movement.  S/he is available to all members of Cursillo in a pastoral role.

Spiritual Director

The spiritual director is appointed by the Bishop, normally for three years.  S/he represents the Bishop to the movement and with the Lay Director liaises between the Bishop and Cursillo in the diocese.  S/he is responsible for the spiritual aspects of Wakefield Cursillo. S/he works with pre-Cursillo in reaching out to those showing an interest in Cursillo.   S/he may well talk to parish priests who have ‘first time’ pilgrims on a weekend.  S/he has pastoral responsibility for all members of Wakefield Cursillo, offering spiritual support and counsel to the Lay Director, Lay Rectors, the Secretariat and all involved in Cursillo.  S/he may advise on personal SDs for individual Cursillistas

Secretary

The secretary is responsible for the record keeping of Wakefield Cursillo. S/he minutes Secretariat meetings and distributes the minutes.  S/he may attend other meetings to minute them also.  S/he prepares the agenda for the AGM with the Lay Director and makes sure reports are available in Wake Up the month before the meeting.  S/he distributes the minutes of the AGM.  S/he keeps BACC informed of events within Wakefield Cursillo including changes of personnel and dates of Cursillo Weekends  in the diocese.

Treasurer

The Treasurer prepares and presents a financial statement for each Secretariat meeting.  S/he deals with the day to day running of all financial dealings.  S/he reimburses expenses as necessary.  S/he prepares and presents audited accounts to the AGM.  S/he orders materials such as crosses and pilgrim’s guides from BACC.  S/he works closely with the Gift Aid Officer.

The Pre-Cursillo Coordinator coordinates a group to promote Cursillo in the diocese and encourage pilgrims as they prepare for the Cursillo Weekend.  The group is involved in outreach to the diocese via publications; the Parishes through talking to PCCs, synods and chapters: individuals who enquire through leaflets.  The team also supports those who are sponsoring new pilgrims on a Weekend.  The coordinator also liaises with the booking secretary.

 

Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator has responsibilities across the whole spectrum of Cursillo activity in the diocese.  S/he supports the weekend by making sure all handouts are available. S/he is responsible for determining the best method of conveying information and then ensuring that this is implemented efficiently in order to enhance Cursillo activities and promote Cursillo  widely.  Communication specifically covers the website, Wake Up (reaching about 300 people), leaflets, photographs, the Directory and links with diocesan publications.

 

 

Weekend Coordinator

The task of the Weekend Coordinator is to act as a link between the Lay Rector and the Servant Community ensuring that all tasks, which the community does to support the weekend are completed  and that items prepared for the weekend are delivered to the  Gophers.  The Coordinator  is also a valuable resource to the Lay Rector and Lay Director as experience of what is practically needed for a weekend is built up. The Weekend Coordinator helps to ensure that training and planning for the Weekend is completed on time. The Weekend Coordinator will also provide other resources for Cursillo as needed, liasing as necessary with members of the Communications Team and others.
